Early Orthodontic Care Matters

What Parents Should Know About Early Orthodontic Visits

Why Early Orthodontic Care Matters

Many parents are surprised to learn that orthodontic care can begin as early as age 7. At this stage, we can often spot subtle issues with jaw growth or tooth alignment before they become more serious.

At Kulits Orthodontics, we believe in thoughtful, personalized care. Whether your child needs early treatment or not, an initial evaluation offers peace of mind and helps us plan for a healthy, confident smile.

With Dr. Paul’s honest, experienced approach and a team known for kindness and compassion, families trust us to make every step of the journey comfortable and clear.

What Is Two-Phase Treatment?

In some cases, Dr. Paul may recommend a two-phase treatment plan. The first phase, which can start while some baby teeth are still present, focuses on guiding jaw growth, creating space for incoming adult teeth, and correcting bite issues early. This phase may involve appliances such as palatal expanders, space maintainers, or limited braces to set the foundation for a healthier smile.

Dr. Paul takes a conservative approach and will only recommend Phase 1 treatment if he believes it is truly necessary to prevent more complex problems later. The second phase, typically during the teen years, completes alignment with braces or clear aligners once all permanent teeth have come in.
